Pamphlets from the World's Columbian Exposition, including catalogs of the Brazilian, German, Mexican, Uruguayan, and U.S. Navy exhibits; pamphlets on classifications and rules for the exhibits in various subject areas, including horticulture, the liberal arts, machinery, mining and metallurgy, and transportation; rules and a list of departments for the World's Congress Auxiliary; a pamphlet on the children's department; catalogues of the exhibits on electricity, the U.S. Navy, the State of New York, mining and metallurgy, and transportation; pamphlets publicizing the Exposition as a whole, including one which provides a history of world's fairs from the Great Exhibition in London (1851) to the World's Columbian Exposition (1893); and official reports concerning the planning of the Exposition. Also included is the December 1893 issue of The Cosmopolitan, devoted to heavily illustrated articles on the Exposition; a pamphlet titled "Information for Foreign Exhibitors"; and a list of the books in the library of the Woman's Building at the Exposition.

The World's Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair, was organized in celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s landing in America.
